What to expect
The patient and doctor fully discuss the four main variables concerning augmentation mammoplasty (breast augmentation): incision types, implant placement, type of implant and post operative breast size and shape. The patient is shown many before and after pictures of breast augmentations to help the patient decide on which approach and size is best for that particular patient. Some patients whose breast are ptotic(saggy) are better served with a breast lift(mastopexy) in addition to the breast augmentation. If a patient feels that her breasts are already too large then the option of some type of minimally invasive breast reduction is discussed.
All of Dr. Leikensohn’s cosmetic breast surgery is performed at a federally and state licensed out patient surgery center. All types of anesthesia are available and are administered by an M.D. anesthesiologist.
